"What's up people! This is Sam from Negative (-) here writing you a
review of the Dubai Derest Rock concert that I attended and took pictures of
on the behalf of my friends at Lebbands.com
The concert was AMAZING over all. The lights, sound, stage, organization,
band line up, and the crowd! The 2 local bands, Nervecell and Juliana Down
did a very good job and held their ground.
There was a lot of energy coming from those guys and it showed through their
stage chemistry.
The first international band was Sepultura who played all their best songs
from Chaos AD to ROOTS and some tracks from their more recent albums. You
can see 20 years of experience in the way they packed so
much power into their setlist! Everyone in the audience was moshing and
headbanging like there was no tomorrow!! Their sound was simply awesome! And
you could tell that they were doing what they love...playing METAL!! The vocalist Derrick did a perfect job singing the "Max" era
songs as well!Within Temptation followed right after, I had no idea what to expect
from them but i was very impress with her voice and her performance with the
rest of the band.
Next was Machine Head who started their set with Imperium... and HOLY SH**
was their sound HEAVY!! They drove everyone crazy with tracks like OLD and
DAVIDIAN as well as songs like BULLDOZER and TEN TON
HAMMER. They just went mad on stage and delivered song after crushing song
all the time saluting the audience with a drink between songs.
The crowd was going insane when these guys were on stage! If ever a band
rocked the house... it was Machine Head!!
Finally there was The Darkness who came out and performed a very
entertaining set with pyros and a lot of funky 70's and 80's stage antics.
They played I BELIVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE and LOVE IS ONLY A
FEELING. Between songs the singer cracked jokes and jammed on guitar and
synth. Very entertaining band to watch.
Over all the concert was great... POWERFUL and HEAVY being the key words of
the concert thanks to Sepultura and Machine Head, both bands stole the show
in my opinion!
I recommend anyone who can to go watch the next Desert Rock Concert when it
happens because it's definitely worth the trip! This was my second trip
there and it was SO much better than last year. I can only
imagine what bands they'll get next year.
That's all from me, hope you like all the pictures and see you guys at the
next Negative (-) concert.
Peace
Sam
