Human Chaos EP [January 2005]

"This band, emerging from Dubai (United Arab Emirates), performs
like Dirty Harry's 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the
world: they blew my head clean off! Formed in 1999, Rami
Mustafa, Barney Ribeiro (guitars) and James Khazaal (bass and
vocals) now release their first production entitled 'Human
Chaos'. For drum duties, Nervecell uses session drummers. On
this cd, sessionist Alan Madhavan performed the drums. Don't
expect a bunch of amateurs, men in veils, oil sheiks, camel
riders or a shitty production for the reason that these band
members live in a death metal developing country!
This is a well-produced effort: 'Signs Of The End' is a
mid-tempo song that invades your living room with different
variations on the same riff, 'Vastlands Of Abomination' is a
well structured song preceded by long musical parts, 'The
Darkened' has the same elements. The title track is the most
mature song on this cd with some fast sections and clincher song
'Demolition' forces me to recommend Nervecell to all of those
who are into early nineties death metal. Some points of
interest: more variations in riffing and speed and more creative
drum parts. A nice death metal cd though."
