Human Chaos EP review [June 2005]

"United Arab Emirates, quite an unusual country for a death metal band...Anyway, Nervecell plays some big fat inspired mid-tempo death metal. The trio propose on this 5 title demo-CD some very good traditional death metal. The songs are complex and well written and executed with some good dark atmospheres. The band has some good skills. The singing is certainly the best point of this CD, very deep and powerful. The other good thing I found is the guitar and especially the guitar solos which are very original. With that kind of death metal, we would have certainly found some stupid unmastered high speed Kerry King-like solos, but here, we have
almost the opposite! The solos are very aerial, intense, sometimes heavy metal-like but very well integrated to the rest of the music. We may only regret that the music doesn't have a good rythm, it's always slow-paced and I think their music would certainly gain a lot if they included some faster rythms just like in thrash-metal and maybe some blast-beats. But we can also find some more modern drum patterns inspired by some more actual metal. This demo-CD shows us that Nervecell really masters what it does, with originality and a personality. A good debut CD that should serve them
to improve themselves. A very good job"
